Ministry of Climate and Enterprise, Unit for Circular Economy, Chemicals and Radiation

The Unit for Circular Economy, Chemicals and Radiation is responsible for issues related to circular economy, chemicals and waste, as well as radiation safety and environmental research. This includes work at the national, EU, and international levels to implement government policy, develop regulatory instruments and frameworks, and oversee the authorities for which the unit is responsible. The unit is currently in an intensive work phase to contribute to creating conditions for an effective and safe expansion of nuclear power, and we are now seeking case officers for the group within the unit that handles nuclear safety and radiation protection issues.

Your Workday. Sweden's Tomorrow.

As a case officer, you will independently drive issues within the radiation safety area. This includes working on the approval and assessment of nuclear activities, preparedness and civil defense, radioactive waste, and issues related to radiological accidents. The specific tasks within the radiation safety responsibility will depend on your interests, previous experience, and competencies. The positions entail taking significant personal responsibility for the development of regulations and instruments, analysis, handling administrative matters, and preparing government matters. Your tasks will also include preparing materials for the political leadership.

Work at the unit is characterized by varied and developing tasks. As an employee in the Government Offices, you are flexible, and it is important that you can quickly familiarize yourself with new issues. At times, the work pace is high, which requires you to have a structured working method, be able to prioritize, and deliver quality under time pressure. The role involves many internal and external contacts. The work may involve business trips. Great emphasis will be placed on personal qualities.
